Where little ones grow roots & reach for the sky.
Little Oaks is a family-run Montessori daycare on Alexandria Avenue, caring for children ages 0–4. Calm rooms, real materials, and grown-ups who actually know your child by name.
Quiet rooms, real work, and respect for the child.
Montessori isn't a brand we paste on the door — it's how we set the tables, how we speak to children, and how we let them do things for themselves.
Prepared Environment
Low shelves, real glass cups, child-sized brooms. Everything is sized so children can do it themselves — and that's the point.
Follow the Child
We watch closely and meet each child where they are. A two-year-old obsessed with pouring water gets all the pouring work in the world.
Unhurried Days
Long stretches of uninterrupted play. We don't rush children from station to station every fifteen minutes — concentration is a muscle, and we let it grow.
Care that grows with your child.
Four distinct rooms for four distinct stages. Small group sizes, consistent caregivers, and plenty of time outside.
Infant Room
Gentle routines, lots of being held, tummy time on real wool rugs. Sleep and feeding on your baby's schedule, never ours.
Young Toddler
Walking, climbing, first words. We help with dressing and eating without rushing — the goal is independence, one button at a time.
Older Toddler
Practical life takes off: pouring, sweeping, washing the snack dishes. Language explodes. So does the laundry.
Preschool
You're not mighty when you get here, but you're mighty when you leave. The classic Montessori materials — the pink tower, sandpaper letters, the moveable alphabet. Reading and counting arrive when the child is ready.

Hi — we're a family business, not a chain.
Little Oaks is owned and operated by my wife and me. She handles the management and business side of things. I take care of IT and operations in the background. The day-to-day care is led by people who have been doing this work for years — including our site director, who has been with Little Oaks for over a decade.
We started this because we wanted somewhere we'd happily send our own kids: small, quiet, where the people don't rotate every six months and where the day isn't ruled by screens or the clock.
— with care, the Little Oaks family
